At the age of 16 Matei Radu (NEVER) picked up the guitar and began his journey into music. Through this instrument, he discovered the freedom & joy of musical expression that kept him going, continuously searching for new sonic worlds. Soon enough he got into music production & other instruments as well and started playing with various bands & projects in Bucharest. His musical quest was developing more & more towards the electronic sound though and in 2013 he surfaced with the “NEVER” alias. In the following years NEVER has been promoting electronic music parties in Bucharest, producing and regularly playing his unreleased material in his home town and at festivals in Romania. Matei has shared the booth with the likes of Sebastian Mullaert, Etapp Kyle, Applescal, Ada Kaleh, Alexandra, Melodie and many more. Whether he’s playing in his home town – Bucharest, or at a festival in nature, his DJ sets are well adapted to the scenery, while always being surprising & authentic, drawing you into the moment. His long, hypnotic trips draw inspiration from the synergy of house, techno & minimal and any other musical vibration and feeling he experiences as a human being.
