Felipe Cobos is one of the most outstanding DJs and producers on the electronic music scene. This artist, forged in the most underground cabins in Spain, has managed to become a national and international reference thanks to his performances full of elegance and energy and his powerful productions that can be heard in the most important clubs and festivals worldwide.
His style, energetic yet conceptual and danceable, soon opened the door to numerous residencies and earned him multiple performances in clubs and festivals. This success is based on his wise combination of cheeky and fresh techno sounds, seasoned with a dash of elegant house and anchored on a minimal base capable of raising the temperature of any dancefloor.
Soon, clubbers both nationally and internationally were able to enjoy these hard-hitting and effective sets. Co-founder of a new event in Ibiza called JOIN at Alma Beach with Nima Gorji, he soon began to apply this successful combination to his own productions. The result? A series of funky percussive bombs, intense climbs, lascivious vocals, and a perfect symbiosis between club-focused bass sounds and more modern, well-dosed elements that didn’t go unnoticed by big names in the underground scene. Many of them have used Felipe Cobos’ tracks in their sessions and charts on labels such as NGTRAX, Tzinah Records, Micronica Records, Conceptual Records, Zebra Rec, Care3 London, BLABLA Music, Fantastic Friends, System2, Tagged Music, and many more.
Tzinah Records: “To start with, please, recommend us something to listen to while we go through this interview. It can be anything.”

Tzinah Records: “Could you remember when and where have you felt it for the first time that you were to become a music artist?”
Felipe Cobos: “Yes, of course. It wasn’t a specific day; it happened gradually as I started listening to music in the most underground clubs in my hometown.”
Tzinah Records: “Why did you choose to create and play this particular type of music? Are there any artists that touched you deeply while developing your own style?”
Felipe Cobos: “I didn’t choose this style; it chose me, haha. Over the years, after listening to a lot of music and growing as an artist, I became deeply attracted to this style. It offers so many possibilities for playing and creating music.”
Tzinah Records: “Please, briefly, describe for us, the current state of the underground music scene in the place you come from. Is it any good?”
Felipe Cobos: “From my point of view, the scene and this sound are slowly becoming more prominent in my city. More promoters, clubs, and artists are embracing this style.”
Tzinah Records: “Without giving out too much about your secret weapons, please tell us how does the magic work in your production routine. Software? Analog? What does your DJ set-up imply?”
Felipe Cobos: “I work with Ableton, some plugins, and a few analog machines.”
Tzinah Records: “What are the aspects of your daily life that are influencing the shape and sound of the music that you currently make?”
Felipe Cobos: “Everything. I think the music you create reflects how you feel.”
Tzinah Records: “Which underground house DJ or producer would you love to take out for a summer picnic? With which artist (from any music genre) would you spend 24 hours stuck in an elevator?”
Felipe Cobos: “There are so many great artists that I can’t choose just one.”
Tzinah Records: “What motivates you to be an active part of the underground movement?”
Felipe Cobos: “The love for this kind of music and everything surrounding it.”
Tzinah Records: “What do you do when the music is not playing?”
Felipe Cobos: “I spend time with my friends, go to the beach, and enjoy life.”
