Although Vadim Svoboda comes from a classical musical background he quickly developed a passion for electronic music and production. Sounds have always been part of his life.
He has collected vinyl for a few years now. After purchasing his first rhythm ma- chine in 2005, he starts creating and producing. In 2009, he spends a semester in NY to finish his studies and for the first time performs live with his analogical machines. His live shows are made with musical instruments and hardware such as synthesisers and rhythm machines. After a few gigs, he quickly becomes a musical curiosity. Parisian party organizers such as Celine and Giorgio from Sundae decide to have him as a resident and Masomenos take him on their im- print to realize his debut EP, Ça me dit, on Welcome To Masomenos. In 2011 he creates his own label, Makesense, which is an original imprint that favours musical diggers who purchase vinyl but who can download Pirate tracks on his platform: « it is a server with ghost-tracks called Pirate that is uniquely available to the vinyl customers who can download collaborations, remixes and tracks that never came out » (Trax no152) On November 2011, he comes out with Makesense Record 001, his first solo EP named Supercharged, which is selected by Dyed Soundroom for 2012 Rex Club compilation.
After 2 years in Berlin, he develops his talent for live performance and plays in Panorama Bar, Club Der Visionaere, and other underground venues such as Heidegluhen. His most recent project called Pattern is the result of his Berlin work. It regroups 100 tracks that came out of his analogical rhythm machine, recorded live with no peculiar arrangement nor effects which will come out on Double R, the alliance of two labels: Stablo and Rekids. One exception is made to present Vadim’s work on Parisian artist Seuil’s label Eklo. On EP Motif, Vadim also presents his unique mono instrumental sounds that come out of his rhythm machine.His quest for unique sound quality and originality is key to him.
