IVANOV is a talented Ukrainian DJ and Producer renowned for his unique take on underground house music.
Specialized in producing quality music with a lot of feel and groove, his work has been released on labels such as Tzinah and In Re, gaining wide support by major electronic music acts like tINI, Dragosh, VID, Nina Soul, Hector, Dasha Redkina, Alex Kid, Julian Perez and many more.
Ivanov’s main mission is defined by his eagerness to develop and improve his music as good as it can be, in order to make people more happy and open minded through his own sounds and feelings.

Tzinah: To start with, please, recommend us something to listen to while we go through this interview. It can be anything.
Ivanov: My mix for you guys.
Tzinah: Could you remember when and where have you felt it for the first time that you were to become a music artist?
Ivanov: It was something that came step by step, that grew more and more.
Tzinah: Why did you choose to create and play this particular type of music? Are there any artists that touched you deeply while developing your own style?
Ivanov: I’m doing it because I feel love for it.
Tzinah: Please, briefly, describe for us, the current state of the underground music scene in the place you come from. Is it any good?
Ivanov: Now I have moved to Berlin in and the underground scene is so good I can’t describe it! In Ukraine, where I come from is a good place in general but not a good place for the music industry right now.
Tzinah: Without giving out too much about your secret weapons, please tell us how does the magic work in your production routine. Software? Analog? What does your DJ set-up imply?
Ivanov: I produce both with analog and software and I play vinyl and CDs. Maybe I will also play LIVE in future… time will show.
Tzinah: What are some of the aspects in your daily life that are influencing the shape and sound of the music that you currently create?
Ivanov: Comunication with people, my quest for self development, love and passion.
Tzinah: Which underground house DJ or producer would you love to take out for a summer picnic? With which artist (from any music genre) would you spend 24 hours stuck in an elevator?
Ivanov: Nina Kraviz :)
Tzinah: Have you already played in your most-dreamed about venue or are you currently working on it? Which one is that?
Ivanov: Yes, I had many great gigs but I believe that the most important thing is not the venue itself but the crowd. I enjoy playing in any place where people want me and dance to my music.
Tzinah: What’s your favorite type of breakfast?
Ivanov: Fruits
Tzinah: What do you do when the music is not playing?
Ivanov: I write music, practice Yoga, just have fun and love life and try to improve myself.
Tzinah: Is there a story behind your Tzinah Family Podcast? How did you record it, and, are there released or unreleased tracks?
Ivanov: I’ve recorded it at a home party with friends in Berlin; inside the mix you can hear released and unreleased stuff from my lovely friends.
Tzinah: Are there any of your plans/upcoming projects that you would like to share with us? Where can we see you play next?
Ivanov: Yes! Together with my best friend Kirik, we’re working on a lot of stuff, including our next album. We’re also starting playing more often here in Berlin, our next upcomming gigs will be at Hoppetosse and Chalet club.
Tzinah: Supposing you come back reading this interview in 10 years from now; could you try saying something to your future-self?
Ivanov: Be easy and enjoy your life, you will have all what you really need. Do everything you want, try everything you can and never never give up!
