Tzinah Records Interview:

Tzinah Records: So how did all begin for you?
Chazzy Chaz: The beginning is happening right now for me (smiling), but it all started a long time ago when I was crying in my baby bed when my father didn’t play the Deep Purple records

What role does the artist have in society in your opinion? Why do you do what you do?
Chazzy Chaz: An artist knows when to show his work for the society,a real artist doesn’t have to, he’s discovered by the society. -I often dream sounds at night, I cannot help myself (laughing)

Tzinah Records: Why did you chose to play this music?
Chazzy Chaz: I’m really into deep stuff, I’m focused everytime on the smallest detail in a record , loving anything that is minimalistic.

Tzinah Records: Describe a real-life situation that inspired you.
Chazzy Chaz: I cannot forget that very special rainy morning, drinking my coffee near my window,I was touched by the view, and I was in a perfect mood to create a very deep and moody track that day….(‘Chazzy Chaz-printre noi ‘ soon on vinyl)

Tzinah Records: What is your point of view on labeling genres? Music is so complex and genres get intermingled so often these days. What is your opinion regarding this blend and you think we should find names for them or just let them be?
Chazzy Chaz: I’m aware of so many mixed up styles but I do not want to say my opinion about them

Tzinah Records: What do you think about the music scene in your country? What is your opinion about European underground music scene, new talents, old producers, what do you think about Romanian artists? -Chazzy Chaz: Honestly Romania started to “move”, started to understand what underground scene is, and I’m glad for that, we have so many talented artists, and we have a quite strong root in this music. I have noticed that many artists have been promoted in their own country but they chose another way, wishing to play in other countries more developed on the underground techno scene.

Tzinah Records: If you could pick one place you would like to play where would it be and why?
Chazzy Chaz: It would be definitely Club Der Visionaere in Berlin, that place is awesome and the peeps over there know what’s going on.

Tzinah Records: If you had the opportunity to change something about the music industry what would it be? Chazzy Chaz: Stop making stupid people famous (smiling)

Tzinah Records: Out of all tunes you have made, which one you think ‘never fails’?
Chazzy Chaz: Daddy needs a key [Tzinah Records] (smiling)

Tzinah Records: How do you see yourself changed over the years, both personal and music-wise and what did you learn?
Chazzy Chaz: These years that passed away made me mature and I felt that in my work in music also, I’ve learned how to keep calm and have patience

Tzinah Records: What inspires you to keep going and how do you keep yourself motivated?
Chazzy Chaz: I always appreciate the feedbacks on every track that I make,I know how to listen to other people ,taking a good advice and never think of tomorrow.

Tzinah Records: What else do you do besides playing music?
Chazzy Chaz: I’m a barber actually…

Tzinah Records: What makes you angry?
Chazzy Chaz: absolutely nothing (laughing)

Tzinah Records: What is your favorite food?
Chazzy Chaz: The meal that my girlfriend cooks

Tzinah Records: What computer/gear do you use?
Chazzy Chaz: I have a macbook ,midi keyboard,an AKAI controller and good imagination(laughing)

Tzinah Records: It sounds quite easy to make music today, with the amount of software programs/synths being readily available for everyone. What do you think about this evolution?
Chazzy Chaz: it is very helpful, but I still supporting the analog hardware

Tzinah Records: Dark electronic music has been never as “popular” throughout the scene as it has been in the past few years. Why do you think there is this newfound fascination for darker music?
Chazzy Chaz: I think that the people want to hear something different besides radio and brain f*****g tv , especially when they come to dance and have fun on the dance floor.

Tzinah Records: Do you have the fondness for playing vinyl or have you developed a preference for new media, such as CDs or a purely digital format?
Chazzy Chaz: I want to go old school ,but for now just CDs

Tzinah Records: What are you working on ,at the moment? Any present and future projects that you want to share with us?
