Known as Objectif, Hedi Dabbabi tunisian young DJ producer was born April 22, 1990. As a teenager he bathes in a musical universe, beginning his initiation early on, he was able to make a name between the gods of the underground art scene. In 2011, Objectif continued his career beyond the borders of his native country by moving to the city of Bucharest European temple of anti-culture and electro, famous for its never-ending nights. He began his productions in 2012 influenced and supported by some of his elders (Rhadoo,Raresh, Petre Inspirescu, Villalobos ..) and sustained by some of them as well as Rhadoo,Barac, Herodot…. Versatile and bubbling with ideas, his musical achievements spans from jazz infused rhythms and classical and orchestral arrangements up to deep almost meditational dubbed sonic grooves. Unique, Hedi AKA Objectif aims to communicate to the international electronic music public an energy and an unusual talent by making the dance floors vibrate, and making an unforgettable name in the scene of the world’s underground electronic music.

Tzinah Records: To start with, please, recommend us something to listen to while we go through this interview. It can be anything.

Tzinah Records: Could you remember when and where have you felt it for the first time that you were to become a music artist?
Objectif: At the age of 15, i went with my cousin to a friend’s studio. There I discovered that it was the beginning of my connection with music.

Tzinah Records: Why did you choose to create and play this particular type of music? Are there any artists that touched you deeply while developing your own style?
I have to say that maybe the music chose me as it came naturally synchronising tracks. By coming to Romania in 2011, I dedicated my time to music, having as inspiration from Cezar and Rhadoo, to name only few as the scene is full of talented artists .

Tzinah Records: Please, briefly, describe for us, the current state of the underground music scene in the place you come from. Is it any good?
Objectif: Living in Bucharest for 9 years now, i have to mention that artists are treating the Underground scene at high level, especially by having an unique style that make them pioneers in the industry.

Tzinah Records: Without giving out too much about your secret weapons, please tell us how does the magic work in your production routine. Software? Analog? What does your DJ set-up imply?
Objectif: I use Ableton live and I have Modularand analog rhythm. I like also to combine both digital and analog when producing music.

Tzinah Records: What are the aspects of your daily life that are influencing the shape and sound of the music that you currently make?
Objectif: I listen to as much music as i can. Inspiration can come from anywhere.

Tzinah Records: Which underground house DJ or producer would you love to take out for a summer picnic? With which artist (from any music genre) would you spend 24 hours stuck in an elevator?
Objectif: I would choose to be stuck in an elevator with Ricardo Villalobos. The picnic maybe I’d spend it with Luciano.

Tzinah Records: Have you already played in your most-dreamed about venue? Which one is that?
Objectif: I have been playing in a lot of nice places around the world; each one of them have a different charm and vibe.

Tzinah Records: What motivates you to be an active part of the underground movement?
Objectif: Music is a true manifestation of love and i believe in sharing my art with others.

Tzinah Records: What’s your favorite type of breakfast?
Objectif: Avocado and eggs.

Tzinah Records: What do you do when the music is not playing?
Objectif: When music stops, i like to read books and enjoy the nature.

Tzinah Records: What’s the story behind your Tzinah Family Podcast? How did you record it and are there released or unreleased tracks?
Objectif: I recorded it at my studio, there are a few of my unreleased tracks.

Tzinah Records: Are there any of your plans/upcoming projects that you would like to share with us? Where can we see you play next?
Objectif: I’m still working on some new projects.

Tzinah Records: Supposing you come back reading this interview in 10 years from now; could you try saying something to your future-self?
Objectif: Always chase your dreams.
