Tzinah Records: Could you remember when and where have you felt it for the first time that you were to become a music artist?
Andrey Djackonda: I clearly remember this moment: it was in Moscow, legendary club “Rodnya”, 3:00 AM, amazing atmosphere, +200 dancers, positive emotions and vibes

Tzinah Records: Why did you choose to create and play this particular type of music? Are there any artists that touched you deeply while developing your own style?
Andrey Djackonda: I always loved the deep house atmosphere and minimalistic groove, and I decided to create a kind of mixture of these 2 intelligent styles, and I tried to bring to minimal music more melodic and soulful mood. That’s was the start of creating my own style, i think. There are few artists influenced on me: Cristi Cons, Ada Kaleh, Priku, Floating Points and Mihai Popoviciu.

Tzinah Records: Please, briefly, describe for us, the current state of the underground music scene in the place you come from. Is it any good?
Andrey Djackonda: I’m from Moldova Republic and here the underground scene is not so wide as in neighboring Romania, but it’s still growing up. There few promo party organisations as “Someone from Jupiter”, “Solar”, “Sound of Olandeep”, where are playing on decks such contemporary music producers and DJ’s as Minube, Dubfound, Ghertz, Dopustim, Dana, Suolo, Leparente, Vzorov and rising talent artist Ovil aka Stanley Foster

Tzinah Records: Without giving out too much about your secret weapons, please tell us how does the magic work in your production routine. Software? Analog? What does your DJ set-up imply?
Andrey Djackonda: There is no secrets: I’m generally using FL Studio and sometimes Ableton Live software. For few years I don’t use any loops, and racking only “one shots” drum samples as from official packs and packs created by my friends extracted from different drum machines as well. Using different Vst generators for melodies: the favourite is U-he Diva. But also i’m recording the analogue piano/rhodes parts directly from my electric piano Yamaha Piaggero. My main home studio monitors are JBL LSR305, audio card: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, controllers Akai Apc mini and M-audio Air mini

Tzinah Records: What are the aspects of your daily life that are influencing the shape and sound of the music that you currently make?
Andrey Djackonda: In my daily life i’m trying to keep myself only in a good mood by sports, workout, well-thinking, communication with like-minded people who are not toxic and of course regular meditation. Generally non-stressed and healthy lifestyle is the key of my music ideas.

Tzinah Records: Which underground house DJ or producer would you love to take out for a summer picnic? With which artist (from any music genre) would you spend 24 hours stuck in an elevator?
Andrey Djackonda: That’s a good question :) I’m generally an introverted person, but it should be great to chill on a picnic somewhere in Romanian mountains with Emmanuel Coman as known as BRYZ. I know him from a very beginning of his music path, and I think we have many common themes to discuss. If the place will be an elevator – no problem, but should be great to have a laptop there so we could create some collabs with Bryz during the operation of our rescue :D

Tzinah Records: Have you already played in your most-dreamed about venue? Which one is that?
Andrey Djackonda: Yes, i think. It was a big festival in Targu-Secuiesc, Romania, in 2019. Around 1000 dancers, it was a great party. Generally my dreams are very modest, i’m not dreaming about playing on popular venues like Sunwaves, but it should be great anyway :)

Tzinah Records: What motivates you to be an active part of the underground movement?
Andrey Djackonda: Actually I don’t think about activity in underground movement or other movements, just doing music and trying to show it to listeners, and positive feedbacks from them it’s my main fuel and motivation to do music everyday.

Tzinah Records: What’s your favourite type of breakfast?
Andrey Djackonda: I eat only fruits on breakfast everyday for many years+listening to new tracks from favourite Youtube channels as Rayzeh, Verzila, Ufo Beats, Houseum and Slav. That’s the perfect mixture of breakfast :)

Tzinah Records: What do you do when the music is not playing?
Andrey Djackonda: Music never stop playing in my life, it’s my the only main occupation. In the moments when I’m not creating music I’m working on my label group Conceptual. Also have a small hobby: painting :)

Tzinah Records: What’s the story behind your Tzinah Family Podcast? How did you record it and are there released or unreleased tracks?
Andrey Djackonda: In this podcast I included mostly the tracks from my Unknown Series “sol_” plus some upcoming tracks and collabs on vinyl in 2021-2022. But also I included the one of my favourite tracks by my best friend Minube released on Tzinah: “Panorama”.

Tzinah Records: Are there any of your plans/upcoming projects that you would like to share with us? Where can we see you play next?
Andrey Djackonda: I’ve started the new Live Duo project with Minube called “Sol_”. We are playing only our tracks live through Ableton+some controllers+analogue piano. We are planning to tour to Romania, Ukraine and Russia when the industry will recover from Covid. Also have many upcoming vinyl only releases not only in minimal genre, but in deep house/funky house/jazz house. I’m always opened for new experiments in different styles and consider that music has no borders.

Tzinah Records: Supposing you come back reading this interview in 10 years from now; could you try saying something to your future-self?
Andrey Djackonda: “Don’t worry, be happy” :)
