Plusculaar // Interview // Tzinah Podcast // October 2015 //

plusculaar records_logoPlusculaar was born in Bucharest and got in touch with music and the clubscene at a young age. When he entered a club with his brother for the first time, he was suddenly impressed by it’s atmosphere and already knew that music would be playing a big role in his life. He was looking for a reflection of himself in the music and after more nights spent in clubs with stunnung sets and deep moments, he felt that he had to learn playing to impress hiself. After a while he could already feel happy about having success in Amsterdam and Romania, playing DJ-Sets with Pack Osuna and Florian Meindl. These experiences showed him, that it all just had begun and that there was more to come. To impress his own spirit better, he started to produce music, and releases on vinyl Labels like Enough Music, Cardinal, Fluegel & Inwave followed. In 2014 Plusculaar founded his very own label, Binaural Arts, with tracks of artists he was impressed by. The music speaks for itself. One thing is sure, there is more to come and to expect by Plusculaar: his way just started and he is ready for this ride. We are looking forward to more good vibes, smiles and happiness delivered through his sound. Keep an eye out for that guy!

Plusculaar: of course i would reccommend the podcast i’ve just made for you last night ;)

Tzinah Records: Could you remember when and where have you felt it for the first time that you were to become a music artist?
Plusculaar: not exactly dj, but when i was very young and one of my brothers took me to a club for first time, i was so impressed by it’s atmosphere and already knew that music would be playing a big role in my life, then after few years when i start going to Studio Martin and see Rhadoo playing (more then 11years now), i decide to learn just to understand how is done, not after long seeing friends reaction on my beedroom sets, it all turned into a career.
Tzinah Records: Why did you choose to create and play this particular type of music? Are there any artists that touched you deeply while developing your own style?
Plusculaar: because i’ve been into electronic music since i was a kind so i tryed to hear and understand all styles until i found what i can translate, what i feel, i’m deeply touch but by all GOOD music, but never really had a idol or any kind of that.. it took my whole (music) life to develop the style and production you can hear from me today.
Tzinah Records: Please, briefly, describe for us, the current state of the underground music scene in the place you come from. Is it any good?
Plusculaar: i come from Romania (Bucharest), its not just VERY good, it is turn into a genre itself.
Tzinah Records: Without giving out too much about your secret weapons, please tell us how does the magic work in your production routine. Software? Analog? What does your DJ set-up imply?
Plusculaar: always music production hardware has been very expensive, today technology give as the change to have the power and quality of hardware into a special software, so i’m very much into analog and modular sound but i don’t won many pieces at the moment.
Tzinah Records: What are the aspects of your daily life that are influencing the shape and sound of the music that you currently make?
Plusculaar: hmmm.. never really thought of that, maybe because i made a full time job out of it, actually even little more than that, is what i do and what i’m everyday..
Tzinah Records: Have you already played in your most-dreamed about venue? Which one is that?
Plusculaar: no idea, for me each party is a dream come alive in past few years, so i’m equally happy about each party/venue i play at.
Tzinah Records: What motivates you to be an active part of the underground movement?
Plusculaar: its my way to express feeling with art
Tzinah Records: What’s your favorite type of breakfast?
Plusculaar: this might sound strange, but i don’t really eat breakfast, and when i do is about lunch time haha
Tzinah Records: What do you do when the music is not playing?
Plusculaar: only moments when is not playing even in my mind is when i’m outside the city into woods, hills or forests, cleaning my thoughts and live the calm and loving feelings of nature.
Tzinah Records: What’s the story behind your Tzinah Family Podcast? How did you record it and are there released or unreleased tracks?
Plusculaar: i’ve just recorded it last night in studio with mostly promo tracks that will soon be in stores combined with older and even tzinah tracks, its sure a ride to take when is your moment.
